It is known that RJ Balaji has been directing the Tamil remake of hit Bollywood flick Badhaai Ho. The shooting of the film commenced last year in Coimbatore, and the team is said to have wrapped up its production in a few months' time. Sathyaraj and Urvashi will be seen playing the characters essayed by Gajaraj Rao and Neena Gupta respectively in the Tamil version, which is said to have titled Veetla Visheshanga.

The team has now officially announced that its first look will be unveiled on March 18. Directed by Balaji himself, the project has been produced by Boney Kapoor, along with Zee Studios and Romeo Pictures.

This is Balaji's second directorial project after Nayanthara-starrer Mookuthi Amman (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar). The film had him wielding the megaphone along with NJ Saravanan. Though there are reports of Veetla Visheshanga, too, going the OTT way, it is expected that an announcement on its release also will be made along with its first look.

Aparna Balamurali of Soorarai Pottru (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) fame will play female lead in Veetla Visheshanga. Interestingly, the title has been used earlier by Bhagayaraj for one of his family dramas which released in 1994. We hear that the makers of RJ Balaji-starrer have acquired the rights from the senior filmmaker to use the title.

Balaji had recently took to Twitter to express condolences on the demise of veteran Mollywood actress KPAC Lalitha who has played a pivotal character in the project. He also shared a small video which had him having a gala time with the senior actress.

The movie will be Boney Kapoor's second release this year in Tamil after Valimai. He is set to start his next, AK 61, later this month.
