Looks like actor-filmmaker-choreographer Prabhu Deva is on a signing spree. His long-delayed cop thriller Pon Manickavel started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from last Friday. Thael, billed as an action thriller, is set for a theatrical release on December 10. He has the much-expected Bagheera and Poikkal Kuthirai in his kitty, apart from the pending Yung Mung Sung.
Now, the first look of his bilingual project, Flashback, will be revealed at 5 pm on November 24. It has to be seen if both the Tamil and Telugu versions will have the same title.
Directed by Don Sandy of Jiiva-starrer Gorilla (streaming on Zee5) fame, the movie has Regina Cassandra playing the female lead, while Tollywood actress Anasuya Bharadwaj will be seen essaying a key role in it. Bankrolled by P Ramesh Pillai under the banner of Abhishek Films, Flashback is billed as a coming-of-age entertainer.
According to the makers, the movie is primarily targeted at the young audience. Regina is said to be playing an Anglo-Indian teacher in the film. The characters essayed by Prabhu Deva and Anasuya, we hear, carry a lot of suspense.
Sam CS has composed music for the project for which the actors have started dubbing for their roles. Nandu Turlapati has penned dialogues for the film's Telugu version while Don himself has written Tamil dialogues. It is expected that the makers will announce the release date along with its first look.
Regina Cassandra, who was last seen in Mughizh (streaming on Netflix), has Party, the bilingual flick Soorpanagai, Borrder and Kallapart in Kollywood. Flashback will mark the Tamil debut of host-turned-actress Anasuya Bharadwaj, who was seen in notable roles in Tollywood films like Rangasthalam.
