Here's when the first single of Silambarasan-starrer Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will be released

The shooting of Silambarasan's next release, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, was completed sometime ago. The action drama which has Gautham Menon at the helm marks the duo's third collaboration. Debutant Siddhi Idnani plays the female lead in the film which has Radhika Sarathkumar playing a pivotal role. 

AR Rahman has composed music for the project; the Academy Award winner is teaming up with Gautham and Silambarasan after Vinnaithandi Varuvaya (streaming on YouTube) and Acham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (streaming on Jio Cinema and MX Player). The makers had earlier unveiled the movie's teaser which provided a glimpse into its genre.

Vels Film International which is bankrolling the movie has now announced that its first single will be unveiled on May 6. They also released a new poster of the movie which features its lead actors. The tweet read, "Much awaited Single from @SilambarasanTR_'s #VTK Directed by @menongautham will be out on May 6th (sic)."

An update on the project's theatrical release is what fans of Silambarasan are eagerly waiting for. Pathu Thala and Maha are other films of the star which are likely to release this year. He is also expected to join the shooting of Corona Kumar soon.

Meanwhile, Gautham Menon has Varun-starrer Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha and Vikram-starrer Dhruva Natchathiram in his kitty. There were reports a while ago that the former might skip theatrical release, though an announcement is awaited on the same. Recently, it was heard that the latter might release in theatres around June.

The film which was completed more than five years ago is one of the much-awaited and most-delayed movies in the history of Kollywood. Of late, Gautham has been taking up acting assignments, too. He was last seen in Selfie (streaming on aha Tamil) along with GV Prakash.
