Pandiraj's Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which was initially planned as a theatrical release on February 4, later got postponed to March 10. Its teaser, which offered a glimpse into the face-off between characters played by Suriya and Vinay, was unveiled recently. The posters featuring its female lead Priyanka Mohan, Sathyaraj, Saranya and Vinay, were also released later by the makers.

They have now come up with an update on its much-awaited trailer. The Twitter handle of Sun Pictures, which is bankrolling the film, has announced that the trailer will be released on March 2 at 11 am.

They also released a 15-second video which has Sathyaraj and Saranya, who play the father and mother of Suriya respectively in the movie, indulging in a fun conversation with the star. Saranya is seen asking Suriya why he isn't ready yet when many people are waiting for them.

Sathyaraj, in his regular casual style, says he is more curious than everyone, while Suriya, who is engaged in battle rope exercise, says there is an unexpected surprise for everyone. Though the makers haven't revealed what the context is about, movie lovers know that their conversation hints at the most-anticipated trailer of the movie.

Imman has composed music for the project; three singles have been released from Etharkkum Thunindhavan so far. Rathnavelu and Ruben have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the film which has MS Bhaskar, Soori, Vela Ramamoorthy, Ilavarasu and Pugazh among others essaying pivotal roles.

Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies has acquired the theatrical rights of the movie which will be released in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, under the title ET. Suriya has dubbed for Tamil and Telugu versions of the film, which marks his reunion with director Pandiraj after Pasanga 2. The actor was seen in a cameo, too, in the latter's Kadaikutty Singam.
