Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast, which was released across the world today with record number of shows in many territories, has opened to mixed reviews from critics and moviegoers. Though the film has ample moments for fans of Vijay to enjoy, many are pointing out the flaws in its screenplay.
There are a few who opine that the movie is no match to the director's previous outings Doctor (streaming on Netflix) and Kolamavu Kokila (streaming on Zee5). Anirudh's music and Manoj's cinematography are the elements which have been receiving unanimous positive response, apart from Selvaraghavan's acting.
Needless to say, many fans of Ajith have been celebrating the mixed talk Beast garnered from its FDFS. A few fans of Vijay did the same when Ajith's Valimai (streaming on Zee5) which released in theatres a couple of months ago opened to mixed response.
The hashtag #ValimaiDisaster was trending on Twitter back then. For some fans of Ajith, it's payback time and they have started trending #BeastDisaster on Twitter from early morning today. Fans of the two stars indulging in fights on social media is quite a common phenomenon.
Despite the mixed talk, Vijay admirers believe that Beast is a far better movie than Valimai, while the die-hard fans of Ajith opine that the latter was a comparatively well-made film. Many tweets are trending with the hashtag #AK61 as well. The untitled project of Ajith went on floors the other day.
Vijay fans hope that Beast will perform decently at the box office and that the mixed response will have only little impact on it. They are now pinning hopes on the star's next outing which has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 66. AK 61 is expected to be Deepavali release this year, while Thalapathy 66 is likely to be a Pongal 2023 release.
