Hey Balwanth box office Day 2: Suhas starrer makes Rs 2.5 crore, takes a dull start despite good reviews

Hey Balwanth is Suhas's new film, which was initially titled Hey Bhagawan. Due to censorship issues, the makers had to change the title at the last minute from Hey Bhagawan to Hey Balwanth. The comedy caper opened to solid word of mouth, but the collections have not been very impressive so far.

As per the tracking portal Sacnilk, Hey Balwanth made ₹1 crore gross on day one. On day two, the numbers improved slightly, with the film collecting ₹1.5 crore gross. With this, the total gross stands at ₹2.5 crore, which is slightly below expectations. 

However, Suhas does not yet have a strong box-office pull in Telugu cinema, despite consistently delivering solid performances. With the weekend still underway and positive word of mouth circulating, the makers are expecting better numbers on Sunday, day three of its release.

Hey Balwanth tells the story of a young man who wants to take over his father's business, the nature of which cannot be openly disclosed. He falls in love with Shivani Nagaram’s character and lands in a series of complications. 

The entertaining narrative has worked in the film’s favor, and those who watched Hey Bhagawan (now Hey Balwanth) have appreciated the comedy.
