HIT 3: Not Nani but THIS star was the first choice to play Arjun Sarkaar

HIT 3 is just days away from its release on May 1, 2025. Nani plays the main lead and also produces the cop drama on a massive scale. HIT 3 is the third film in the HIT franchise, with the first two parts featuring Vishwak Sen and Adivi Sesh of Kshanam fame in the lead roles.
Nani on how he landed HIT's lead role
During the climax of HIT 2, the character of Arjun Sarkaar, played by Nani, is revealed. However, not many know that the Jersey actor, Nani, was not the first choice to play the lead in HIT 3. Director Sailesh didn’t want the film to end on a happy note and suggested introducing a new cop. But since he didn’t have the story or lead actor locked for HIT 3, he asked Nani to do the cameo. After much deliberation, Nani agreed.

A source close to the unit revealed that Tamil star Karthi of Dev and Oopiri fame was initially approached for the lead role in HIT 3, but he declined the offer. That’s when Nani stepped in and made it official after hearing the story.
There’s now buzz that Karthi will appear as a cop in HIT 4 and might be introduced in the climax of HIT 3 and will play the lead in the next instalment of the HIT franchise. This twist has been kept under wraps, and there are also rumors that Adivi Sesh has a cameo in the film, which is set in Kashmir.
Nani on doing HIT 3
Nani revealed that he spent 20 days shooting in the beautiful region of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Pahalgam, and never imagined that a terror attack would occur there just months later. He plays a ruthless cop in HIT 3 and says there’s a reason behind his character’s aggression.
As HIT 2 featured Nani in a cameo, fans are now eagerly waiting for Karthi’s. Will it be a special appearance or the introduction of a new hero into the HIT universe? Only time will tell. Director Sailesh Kolanu's last film with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam star Venkatesh ended as a massive flop. So, all eyes are now on him to deliver.
Netflix has acquired the digital rights to HIT 3 for a massive price and will stream the film in the last week of June 2025. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
