HIT: The First Case - Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra’s thriller gets new release date

Fans in anticipation of the Hindi remake of HIT: The First Case will have to wait a little longer it seems. The makers recently announced a new release date for the film.

T-Series, the banner under which the film is produced, recently shared the news via their official social media handles. The post featured a photograph of Sanya Malhotra, who stars in the film along with Rajkummar Rao. The film was earlier scheduled to be released on May 20. HIT: The First Case will now be released in theatres on July 15.

The upcoming film is the Hindi remake of the 2020 Telugu film of the same name, which starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in lead roles. Sailesh Kolanu has directed both the Hindi and Telugu films. A sequel to the Telugu film, directed by Kolanu, is also awaiting release. Titled HIT: The Second Case, the film stars Adivi Sesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Bhanu Chander in pivotal roles.

The upcoming Hindi film, which went on floors last year in September, had wrapped up its shoot last month. It follows the story of a police officer tracing the whereabouts of a young girl who has gone missing. Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore have produced the film under the banners of T-Series and Dil Raju Productions.

Meanwhile, Rao, who was last seen in Badhaai Do, also has the Anubhav Sinha directorial Bheed awaiting release. The film will see him share the screen with his Badhaai Do co-star Bhumi Pednekar. Malhotra was last seen in the Vikrant Massey, Bobby Deol starrer thriller Love Hostel. Her upcoming releases include the Netflix film Kathal, which she wrapped up shooting recently for.
