Hostel Gaana: This instantly likeable song crooned by Deva depicts the fun-filled hostel life

Sumanth Radhakrishnan's Hostel, starring Ashok Selvan and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles, is one of the much-awaited Tamil films this year. The movie is the remake of Malayalam hit film, Adi Kapyare Kootamani (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), which released in 2015.

Sathish, Nasser, Mundasupatti Ramdoss, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru fame Yogi and Krrish play pivotal roles in the film which has been produced by R Ravindran under Trident Arts. Vijay Sethupathi, who started his career along with Ashok, unveiled the Hostel Gaana song from the movie from his Twitter page. He also expressed happiness for the same in his tweet.

He posted, "Happy to share #HostelGaana Video song from #Hostel. Congrats @AshokSelvan & team (sic)." The track, which has veteran composer-singer Deva's flawless voice, is one of the impressive gaana songs in the recent times. Bobo Sasii has composed the song which has lyrics penned by Gaana Edwin Inbaraj.

The fun-filled four-minute song offers a sneak peek into the hostel life of characters played by Ashok and Sathish among others in the film. Munishkanth is seen as a hostel warden in the song and the college students seem to have a gala time dancing and playing cricket in the hostel.

Praveen Kumar has cranked the camera for the project which has editing by Ragul. Apsar R and Pradeep Dinesh have choreographed dance moves and stunt scenes respectively for the project. The teaser of the movie was released earlier last year.

Ashok Selvan and Vijay Sethupathi were last seen together in Oh My Kadavule (streaming on Zee5). The former's next release is Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal, which is hitting the screens on January 28.
