The Indian film industry witnessed the release of two big ticket movies on Friday, Mani Ratnam's star-studded drama Ponniyin Selvan and Pushkar Gayathri's action drama Vikram Vedha. One of the leads in the former, Karthi, took to Twitter to wish success to the latter's team.

Hrithik Roshan reciprocated Karthi's gesture by thanking him and wishing the best to Ponniyin Selvan. The Bollywood star said that he has been hearing great things about the film and that he is eager to watch it soon. He also expressed love and regards to Mani Ratnam and the entire team.

His tweet read, "Thank you so much for your wishes Karthi! #PS1 looks amazing & I'm hearing only good things about the film. Will be watching it soon. My love & best wishes to Mani Ratnam Sir & the entire team. More power to you all (sic)."

Needless to say, fans of both the actors are elated to see them exchanging pleasantries on Twitter. A few of them even expressed desire to see them sharing screen space in a movie in the future. Both their films which were released yesterday have largely opened to positive reviews.

However, Ponniyin Selvan has taken a clear lead at the box office on day one, thanks to its pre-release hype and the star-studded cast, involving Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and Jayam Ravi, too, apart from veterans like Sarath Kumar, Parthiban, Prakash Raj and Jayaram among others.

Despite garnering encouraging reviews from several quarters, Vikram Vedha managed to collect only okayish numbers on day one. The Bollywood trade is now looking forward to the weekend numbers and hopes that the movie would spring a surprise in the coming days.
