Amazon MGM has unveiled a moving trailer for Celine Dion's documentary, I Am: Celine Dion. The documentary delves deeper into the legendary singer's Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis. In December 2022, Dion revealed that she would be postponing a number of her European tour dates due to a debilitating neurological condition that hinders her mobility and the use of her vocal chords for singing.
The trailer features archive and behind-the-scenes footage from Dion’s career, plus new interviews with the world-famous singer as she grapples with her illness. As she describes the current difficulties with her health, she eventually starts to cry.
In the trailer, Dion explains that putting on a show isn't hard while also describing how difficult it is to cancel a show. She puts in a lot of effort every day, but it has been difficult. The singer longs for its presence. She longs for those individuals. If running is not an option, she will trek instead. So long as she can crawl, she will be okay; she refuses to cease.

This is more of a snapshot in time than an exhaustive biography of the legendary pop singer; rather, it covers a watershed moment in her career. Stiff Person Syndrome is an extremely rare neurological condition that impacts the brain and spinal cord. The documentary follows Dion as she fights this disease for over a year. According to what Variety said before, Dion's illness prevented her from working and performing.
Dion said in a statement announcing the documentary that these last couple of years have been such a challenge for her—the journey from discovering her condition to learning how to live and manage it, but not to let it define her. She can't tell how much she has missed seeing her fans as she goes down the path to get back into performance. Dion figured she might as well record this chapter of her life while she was away in the hopes that it would be of use to others dealing with the same affliction.
The iconic My Heart Will Go On from Titanic, the Oscar-nominated Beauty and the Beast, and the more than 250 million records sold over her career are among the many accomplishments of the five-time Grammy winner. She made her first major public appearance at the Grammys in 2024, following her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome.
As of June 25, Prime Video subscribers will be able to watch I Am: Celine Dion.
