Upcoming actor Shariq Hassan's film Netru Indha Neram is set to release in theatres on March 29. The film, which is hinted to be a whodunit thriller by the looks of the trailer, features a host of fresh faces. Speaking about the film, Shariq says to OTTplay, "This is a labour of love made by youngsters. It is the debut for most and it is not that only I am the lead, all seven of us are protagonists and have equal screen space."

About Netru Indha Neram

The film is written and directed by Sai Roshan. Shariq says the film employs the Rashomon effect narrative. “The screenplay will be different with each of the character’s perspective unfolding one by one. Every film has something to teach us, and that is how I see it as well. Since everyone is new, I was also able to learn a lot from each of their vibrant thinking and understand the likes of people,” he adds. In Netru Indha Neram, Shariq plays a person who has a superiority complex and is highly confident about himself.

After playing an antagonist in Pencil, a supporting character in Don, a protagonist in Jigiri Dosth, Shariq is part of an ensemble cast story in Netru Indha Neram. Asked how he wants to navigate the space of acting, he says, “When we come to cinema, it is our job to perform. Only when we do that, artists are able to shine and I aim to give 100 percent for the role I am given. When the story is the hero, all I want to do is a character that can outshine in the film.” The young actor also says how his experience in dance reality shows, has also helped him to shape the performer in him.

Dream role

Speaking about his dream role, Shariq reminds us of the uncanny resemblance he shares with late actor Raghuvaran and wishes to do a biopic on him. “A lot of people have shared with me how I resemble him and hopefully, if someone is doing a biopic on him, I will be the first person to show up. A lot of biopics are in the making, and hopefully it happens.”

Shariq concludes the conversation by saying that he is sure that Netru Indha Neram will be a good theatrical watch owing to its screenplay and edge-of-the-seat quality. “We are a team of youngsters who have made a film with all our labour. People have always supported good content, recent examples being Manjummel Boys and Premalu. I hope and believe that our film too will be liked by the audience,” he signs off.
