GV plays a meat shop owner in the film which has a story based on a few real incidents that happened in Madurai. The movie, unlike the earlier outings of Seenu, is an action-packed drama Gayathrie plays the female lead in the project which has Saranya Ponvannan, Arul Dass and Soundararaja essaying important characters.

NR Raghunanthan, who has earlier composed for a couple of films of Seenu, is the movie's music director. AR Ashok Kumar has handled cinematography for Idimuzhakkam while Sangathamizhan is in charge of editing. Kalaimagan Mubarak has bankrolled the film under Skyman Films International.

An announcement on the film's release is expected soon. Seenu's next outing is Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Maamanithan which will hit screens on June 24. The long-delayed family drama produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja, too, has Gayathrie essaying the female lead in it.
