The Dhanush-starrer Tamil drama film Idli Kadai is currently running in theatres, and despite heavy competition from Kantara: Chapter 1, it has shown a decent run for the first couple of days. The total box office collection so far stands at Rs 29.5 crore worldwide in three days. However, it has shown a dip in collections on Friday.

Idli Kadai is a latest Tamil film starring Dhanush in the lead role. The film is written and directed by Dhanush himself. Released in theatres on October 1, the drama has made close to Rs 30 crore worldwide.
Even as the film showed a steady increase in collections for the first two days, Idli Kadai faced its first major drop on Friday, with the collections getting halved. The day-wise collections are: Rs 11 cr (day 1), Rs 9.75 cr (day 2), and mere Rs 5.5 cr (day 3), in Tamil and Telugu.
Given that the weekend has just started, one can expect an increase in the footfall, even as major screens are allocated to Kantara: Chapter 1, which is a bigger film than Idli Kadai. The Dhanush film also has time until October 17, when the Diwali releases will be hitting big screens. While Dhanush’s previous film Kuberaa holds sixth position among the Tamil grossers this year, Idli Kadai must collect at least Rs 100 crore worldwide to beat this.
