List of top 10 Indian shows, films out! Suriya's Jai Bhim on the forefront

IMDb has revealed its top list of most popular Indian movies and shows of the year. Amazon Prime Video’s 6 movies and 3 originals have secured a fine place in the list interestingly.

The most-discussed Tamil legal drama Jai Bhim tops the list, which is a proud moment for the South Indian cinema. Helmed by T J Gnanavel, the movie features Suriya and Lijomol Jose in prominent roles. Based on true events, the movie revolves around a pregnant woman from an oppressed community, and a High Court advocate who fights a legal battle for her. 

Talking about this achievement, Suriya told onmanorama that he is immensely proud to be a part of the movie. He is euphoric to see the love and appreciation coming their way even from the critics. “I am elated that Jai Bhim is a part of the coveted ‘IMDb Top Rated Movies of 2021’ and would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our well-wishers and viewers for their votes,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the title of the web series, Aspirants has topped the list. Premiered on YouTube, TVF’s series follows three friends on their journey of UPSC preparations at Rajinder Nagar, Delhi. Naveen Kasturia, Shivankit Singh Parihar and Abhilash Thapliyal have played prominent roles in the series created by Arunabh Kumar.
