Imtiaz Ali on Shah Rukh Khan’s resurgence in Bollywood - ‘He really deserves it...’

Imtiaz Ali is currently gearing up for the release of his directorial film, Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. Busy promoting the release of the film on April 12, the director recently spoke about the resurgence of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and how he deserves all the love he is getting.

Imtiaz Ali on Shah Rukh Khan’s resurgence

In a conversation with Connect FM Canada, Imtiaz was asked about how he looks at the resurgence of Shah Rukh Khan, and the director replied that he is very glad about it, and that actor really deserved it. The director added that people love him, and he has so much love in his heart to give to people, so he is very thrilled about it. “I’m very glad about it and he really deserves it. People love him and he has so much love in his heart to give to people,” the noted director said.

Imtiaz Ali on working with Aamir Khan

In the same interview, Imtiaz spoke about his plans to work with Aamir Khan. When asked if there was any possibility of working with Aamir, the director replied that there was nothing on the cards yet. But there are so many possibilities with Aamir and he felt that it would be a very nice time to work with the actor.

Imtiaz Ali would like to remake Jab Harry Met Sejal

Though Imtiaz has never worked with Aamir in the past, the director collaborated with actor Shah Rukh Khan for his film Jab Harry Met Sejal. The 2017 film starred Anushka Sharma along with Shah Rukh Khan.

When asked if he would ever like to remake one of his films, Imtiaz replied that he would like to remake Jab Harry Met Sejal because he felt that there was a lot that he wanted to say but didn't come out.

Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, is all set to make its world premiere on Netflix on April 12. The film aims to showcase the real-life journey of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila.
