The latest Malayalam film, Manjummel Boys, is showing no signs of slowing down . The film has taken the box office by storm, with strong word-of-mouth spreading like wildfire across the state of Tamil Nadu. According to the latest trade reports, the film has experienced unprecedented growth of about 700 percent, a remarkable achievement for a Malayalam film in the history of the Tamil Nadu box office.

Manjummel Boys has grossed more than Rs 21 crore in Tamil Nadu alone, surpassing the lifetime collection of Lal Salaam, which featured Superstar Rajinikanth in a key cameo role. Judging by current trends, it seems the film is only getting warmed up, and its best days are yet to come.

Manjummel Boys creates history in Tamil Nadu

The film is enjoying unprecedented demand among moviegoers, prompting theatres to allocate more screens and shows to the movie. According to industry sources, the film will secure another 100-plus screens, taking its total screen count to around 400. The dream run that the Malayalam film is enjoying is historic, considering it opened in Tamil Nadu cinemas with fewer than 50 screens.

Manjummel Boys premiered worldwide without much pre-release hype. The cast and crew also did little to promote the film outside Kerala. However, thanks to terrific word of mouth, the film is breaking several barriers in finding new audiences across the country.

Manjummel Boys surpasses Rs 100 crore mark

With a little more than Rs 34 crore in Kerala, the film's global earnings now stand at more than Rs 100 crore. It has achieved the distinction of becoming the fastest Malayalam film to join the Rs 100 crore club .

Based on current trends, Manjummel Boys might end its theatrical run in Tamil Nadu with a gross of about Rs 50 crore.

Written and directed by Chidambaram, Manjummel Boys is primarily set against the backdrop of Kodaikanal, making it easy for audiences in Tamil Nadu to connect with.
