The Malayalam comedy film, Innocent, featuring actress Anarkali Marikar and actor-filmmaker Althaf Salim in the lead roles, has made its digital debut. The film Innocent, which was released in theatres on November 7, 2025, is now streaming on Saina Play.
Innocent out on streaming
Innocent made its OTT release on Saina Play on December 29, within two months of its theatrical release. The film is only available for streaming in the original Malayalam language. Innocent did not win many favourable reviews and had a forgettable outing at the cinemas. The film had made some buzz prior to the release as it features social media influencer Kili Paul from Tanzania.
What’s the plot of Innocent movie
Innocent stars Althaf Salim as Vinod, a meticulous government clerk, who is forced to use the ladies’ washroom at the KSRTC bus stand after he falls sick. What follows is a humiliating situation for Vinod as he is captured on camera and publicly ridiculed. Hurt and humiliated, Vinod sets out to reclaim his prestige.
The film also features actors Anarkali Marikar, Joemon Jyothir, Mithun Ramesh, Azees Nedumangad and Kili Paul.
Althaf Salim’s last directorial Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, a recent film, starring Fahadh Faasil, is streaming on Netflix.
Other Malayalam releases
Apart from Innocent, another Malayalam film Ithiri Neram releases on Sun Nxt via OTTplay Premium this week. Roshan Mathew and Zarin Shihab play the lead roles in the film, which also released in theatres on November 7 along with Innocent and will make its OTT debut on December 31. Ithiri Neram won more positive reviews but that sadly did not convert to footfalls at the cinema. Prasanth Vijay directed the film.
Eko, starring Sandeep Pradeep, also releases on Netflix on December 31, 2025. A mystery thriller, the film revolves around a youth, named Peeyoos, who takes care of an elderly woman in a remote area. Dinjith Ayyathan directed the film, which also features Narain, Binu Pappu and Vineeth.
