Shankar is simultaneously shooting two big projects: Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and Ram Charan's Game Changer.
Filmmaker Shankar turned a year old on Thursday and he celebrated turning 60 with a star-studded party. The who's who of the Indian film industry were in attendance at the birthday bash. Filmmaker-actor S J Suryah tweeted a few pictures from the party, along with birthday wishes for Shankar.
Suryah's group photo revealed that leading stars such as Ram Charan, Vikram, and star directors Gautham Menon, Karthik Subbaraj, Vetrimaaran, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vignesh Shivan among others attended the party to celebrate iconic filmmaker, Shankar.
Shankar is simultaneously shooting two big projects: Indian 2 and Game Changer. It's the first time in his career spanning two decades that he's shuttling between two projects. If it were up to Shankar, he would not have taken on such enormous pressure considering the challenges of mounting a big production. But, now Shankar was not tackling one but two mammoth productions.
Shankar was forced to take on such a job due to various circumstances. For the uninitiated, the production of Indian 2 came to an abrupt halt due to a freak accident on the sets in February 2020. A crane holding heavy light equipment collapsed on the sets killing three crew members. Shankar and Kamal Haasan noted that they escaped death by just a whisker. And the nationwide lockdown due to the Covid outbreak forced the production to go into cold storage. During the lockdown, Shankar had fallen out with the producers, Lyca Productions, leading to court battles. As Indian 2 was stuck in limbo, Shankar moved on and started shooting Game Changer with Ram Charan in the lead.
However, Indian 2 was revived following the huge success of Kamal Haasan's Vikram. Red Giant Studios came on board as the new producers, breathing a new lease of life into the project.
The production of Indian 2 and Game Changer is going on in full swing.
