Rajkummar Rao sees Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video as a combination of the familiar and the novel. Ektaa R. Kapoor, the producer who first cast Rajkummar Rao in Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010) and with whom he has worked on several subsequent productions, announced the film in September this year. Rajkummar, Triptii Dimri, and director Raaj Shaandilyaa will collaborate for the first time on this project, which will begin production in January 2024.
Project development:
As per reports in Mid Day, in October, just weeks after the release of his previous hit, Dream Girl 2, Shaandilyaa reportedly began working on the entertainer. The team has already done reconnaissance for the 1990s-themed entertainment.
A source told the tabloid that Raaj and his team visited Dehradun last month because they envisioned the story in a north Indian town. He is in Rishikesh right now, researching potential venues. The film follows the chaos that ensues after a VHS tape with a private movie of the two main characters, played by Vicky and Vidya, disappears from a small town. It is the director's goal to inject his signature sense of comedy into the story without losing the nostalgic feel of the '90s.

Cast and character emphasis
If all goes according to plan, the shoot will begin in Dehradun on January 7. The principal cast has already set aside the first two months of 2024 for production. Further, the source said that first, the team will shoot the introductory moments of the leads and their on-screen families. There is a significant emphasis on the families of the protagonists, and Raaj is currently finalising the cast.
Following Sri, Stree 2, and Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video will be Rajkummar's fourth film release in 2024. Meanwhile, Triptii will next be seen in Animal, which is slated to release on December 1, 2023.
