Jayam Ravi's upcoming film, Iraivan, is all set to hit screens on September 28. Written and directed by Ahmed, the project stars Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara and Rahul Bose in the lead. This is the second time that Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara are coming together for a film after Thani Oruvan (2015).

Iraivan censored
With just a few days to go for the release, the film has been censored with the 'A' certificate. We hear that there has only been two cuts in the film, and that the rest is filled with some raw and brutal scenes. This is the second time that a Jayam Ravi film is getting the 'A' certificate. The last time his film got the 'Adults only' certificate was for director Ameer's Aadhibhagavan (2013). Iraivan's runtime is  2 hours 33 minutes 41 seconds.

An action-packed grim trailer
Jayam Ravi plays Arjun, a cop, who has no mercy for the bad guys in this intense edge-of-the-seat film. He is someone who strongly believes that justice delayed is justice denied. Rahul Bose, the prime antagonist, plays the 'Smiley killer' Bramma, who has murdered 12 young girls in a brutal manner. He leaves a smiley after every murder and is currently kept under the observation of psychologists. The plot revolves around how Arjun takes down the ruthless Bramma.

Cast and crew
The supporting cast includes Ashish Vidyarthi, Naren, Charlie, Vinoth Kishan, Vijayalakshmi, Azhagam Perumal, Bhagavathi Perumal and others. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. While the cinematography is by Hari K Vedanth, editing is by Manikanda Balaji. Iraivan is bankrolled by Passion Studio and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara reunion
The last time Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara teamed up for Mohan Raja's Thani Oruvan (2015), the film turned out to be a massive hit. Iraivan will mark their second outing together and hence, expectations are high. The duo will be once again joining forces for Thani Oruvan 2, which was recently announced by the team.
