Movie buffs were excited when the trailer of Iraivan was released. The promo offered a glimpse into what the makers have made. Billed as an unadulterated psycho-thriller, it has Jayam Ravi playing the lead. Nayanthara essays a pivotal role while I Ahmed has helmed the project.

The team left everyone surprised when they announced that they decided to go with an 'A' certificate. This left moviegoers intrigued and they were curious about the film's content. Rahul Bose playing the antagonist was one of the attractions for film buffs. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music was considered as the cherry on the top.

Iraivan trimmed after garnering mixed reactions

However, the film opened to mixed reactions from the audience. The gory scenes and unengaging screenplay received backlash. Iraivan was released along with Chithha and Chandramukhi 2. While Chithha managed to garner good word of mouth, Chandramukhi 2 registered a good opening.

The team of Iraivan has now decided to trim the movie by 13 minutes. The updated duration is 2 hours and 16 minutes. The new version of the film started screening today. We'll have to wait and see if this move would make any difference to its word of mouth.

Ravi's next is Siren

The actor, who has had three releases this year, is awaiting his next which is said to be hitting the screens in January. Siren, directed by Anthony Bhagyaraj, has him sharing screen space with Keerthy Suresh. Billed as a crime drama, its first look was unveiled recently.

Rajesh's Brother and Bhuvanesh's Genie are other projects he has in his kitty. Ravi is likely to have multiple releases in 2024, too.
