Director Ahmed's psycho-thriller Iraivan is all set to drop in theatres worldwide on September 28. The film stars Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara and Rahul Bose in the lead and is finally hitting screens after a long delay.
The Telugu version titled God
The latest we hear is that the film will be released in Telugu as well and that the Telugu version will be called God. The trailer will be out today. Talking about working with Jayam Ravi, the film's director Ahmed had said, "It’s very rare to come across genuine beings with whom you build mutual trust, love and respect. Thank you @actor_jayamravi for everything. 2 films back to back , may our journey continue. You’re the best (sic)."
The actor-director duo had earlier worked together in a film titled Jana Gana Mana, which is said to be a sleek thriller. However, the film has been lying in the cans for a while now, thus marking Iraivan their maiden venture together.
Iraivan, not for children
Iraivan has been censored with the 'A' certificate with a runtime of 2 hours, 33 minutes and 41 seconds. Talking about getting the A certificate, Jayam Ravi said that he wouldn't recommend the film to children as it had any gory scenes. He added that the team didn't want to hide anything from the audience and that the mood in the trailer is testimony to the same.
Star cast
The supporting cast includes Ashish Vidyarthi, Naren, Charlie, Vinoth Kishan, Vijayalakshmi, Azhagam Perumal, Bhagavathi Perumal and others. Music for Iraivan is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. While Hari K Vedanth is handling the cinematography, Manikanda Balaji is handling the editing.
Iraivan is bankrolled by Passion Studio and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The OTT rights of the film is said to have been bagged by ZEE5, though an official announcement about the same is awaited.
