Jaaved Jaaferi is not only a popular actor but also a well-known host, who is famous for his energetic emceeing, especially in shows like Boogie Woogie. The actor was last seen in Ajay Devgn's De De Pyaar De 2 and earned praise. Speaking in a new interview, Jaaved shared his disappointment with today’s dance reality shows, saying that even with varied formats, they all seem the same, and he hoped for Boogie Woogie 2.0.
Speaking to The Times of India, Jaaved Jaaferi said that today's generation's dance reality shows look the same. "While the formats evolve, the core presentation rarely does. There's great talent around but when it comes to the shows, nothing really stands out," he said.
Highlighting the uniqueness of his famous show, Boogie Woogie, Jaaved shared, "Today, dancers watch everything online and pick up styles from all over the world. We did not have the kind of exposure back then. Our show (Boogie Woogie) was original. It wasn’t copied. If it ever comes back, it has to be version 2, different and fresh."

It set the standard for future dance shows with its core trio of hosts/judges (Jaaved Jaaferi, Naved Jafri and Ravi Behl) and humorous commentary, making dance accessible and inspiring generations in India. Its analysis reveals a successful formula of pure dance, genuine criticism, thematic episodes, and a championship format that prioritizes creativity and emotion over constructed drama.

Boogie Woogie showcased talent from young kids to adults, featuring special championships (Kids, Mothers, Celebrity), making it relatable to all households. It celebrated the joy of movement and raw talent, providing not just brilliance but constructive feedback, a stark contrast to later shows.
Boogie Woogie featured creative themes (Bollywood, Horror, Friendship) and various championships, adding variety and depth and it became a cultural phenomenon, inspiring many to dance professionally and turning dance into a family hobby despite the lack of promotion on social media.
