Recently, The Bengal Files director Vivek Agnihotri showered praise on Dhurandhar. Amid discussions over whether the film is led by Akshaye Khanna or Ranveer Singh, he noted that every small role delivers a top-notch performance.

On January 5, 2025, Vivek Agnihotri took to his X account and shared that after landing back in India after two months, the first thing he did was watch Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. He said that he was blown away by the film and proud are the only words that come to his mind.

Praising the filmmaking, Vivek wrote, "Anyone who knows what goes into making a film would understand what it takes to pull something like this off. The vision, the writing, the confidence, the belief in your own instinct… this kind of cinema doesn’t happen by chance."

Social media has been discussing that Dhurandhar has received so many good reviews because of Akshaye Khanna, while some say that it is purely led by Ranveer Singh. Amid this debate, Agnihotri said, "The real victory of Dhurandhar is that even the smallest, most insignificant characters have delivered top-notch performances. Every face feels cast, directed, and placed with intention. Most importantly, every department is in rare sync, working as one organism. That kind of cohesion doesn’t happen by accident."

Praising Aditya Dhar, the filmmaker shared that he has always admired his work, especially his sense of scale and design, but as per Agnihotri, Dhar has elevated the film to another level. 

"I watched the film with genuine pride… proud of you, proud of the craft, proud of Indian cinema. You are blessed. Truly. God’s own child. More power to you. Keep going. Keep raising the bar. When the younger generation does work like this, Indian cinema moves forward. Simple," he wrote.
