Is everything ok with BLACKPINK? ROSÉ launches Instagram channel, asks suggestions for solo fandom name

While BLACKPINK members Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo have renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment, they have embarked on separate solo adventures. Two idols have already launched their respective agencies, and ROSÉ, on her birthday yesterday, launched her channel on Instagram, which quickly attracted many fans. 

However, one surprising aspect was her request for fans to suggest a fandom name. While 'Blinks' is the fandom name of the group BLACKPINK, ROSÉ opting for a different fandom name instead of sticking with the original has not been well received by many.

To give an example, many artists in the world of K-pop have sung separately from their groups - for instance, BTS' rapper SUGA, who also has an alter ego called AgustD and has released several songs under this alias. However, he has always referred to his fans as 'ARMY' - the original fandom name of BTS.

With so much happening with the girls, many have even questioned if their friendship was only surface-level, speculating if they were not getting along and were merely waiting to separate after their contract expired.

What are BLACKPINK members up to?

Lisa has recently unveiled her management agency, 'LLOUD' and has now added CEO to her already impressive list of titles.

Even rapper Jennie revealed her label, 'Odd Atelier,' also referred to as 'OA,' in December.

Meanwhile, Jisoo has opted to pursue solo endeavours under her brother's agency, 'Blisoo.' As for Rose, while there haven't been any official announcements, she shared a snippet of her upcoming solo song with her fans on February 11, 2024. The K-pop singer surprised her fandom by sharing a 20-second clip of her unreleased track 'Vampirehollie'.
