Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana has been a project every Indian is curious about. Recently, there was almost a confirmation that Ramayana is not a trilogy but will release in two parts. Just a day after the news broke, we hear that the shooting for the Nitesh Tiwari directorial is stalled. Here’s everything we know…

Ramayana stalled?

It appears that the Ramayana shooting has been stalled. This is because of a copyright infringement case, Rahul Raut shares on Twitter (now X). Madhu Mantena wants appropriate compensation and the shoot is on hold because of the same. He has filed for copyright infringement and asked the production to keep the film on hold. It currently looks like the makers will be able to commence the shoot of their movie only after three weeks, which is around mid-June. This is likely to put the movie behind schedule, and they were already running tight on schedule because of the plan to shoot both parts of the film at one go.

Ramayana not a trilogy

A recent Pinkvilla report suggested that Ramayana will not be a trilogy but will be divided into two parts. In fact, the makers will be shooting for both parts one after the other. They will begin the production for part 2 soon, without waiting to see if part 1 will be accepted by the viewers or not. A significant portion of the second part is likely to be shot even ahead of part 1’s release. The shoot for both parts is likely to be wrapped up by December 2025. The makers will announce the release date of the movie soon.

Ramayana in focus

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is clearly one of the most awaited projects in Bollywood. There have been various photo leaks from the sets proving the same. Lara Dutta’s look from the movie was out and that was followed by a photo of Ranbir and Sai’s looks from the sets, all of which obviously went viral.

Also starring Sunny Deol and Yash, the movie is being shot in Mumbai since March. It is likely that the makers will work on a spin-off from the movie of Lord Hanuman. This could also be considered as the third part of the film.
