Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is back in the news! But this time, she isn’t in the middle of yet another royal controversy. The actress - who shot to fame with Suits, Aaron Korsh’s popular legal drama television series on Netflix - has reportedly signed for representation with global agency WME. Meghan and husband Prince Harry moved to California in 2020.
It is said that Meghan’s team at WME will include Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel and representative and brand architect Brad Slater. According to a report in Variety, WME will assume representation of Archewell, Meghan and Prince Harry’s content creation label. Through this, the team will delve into movie and television production, brand partnerships, as well as overall business-building. However, acting will not be an area of focus.
It was earlier said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were engaged in a deal with Netflix. “So much of how my husband and I see things is through our love story. I think that’s what people around the world connected to, especially with our wedding. People love love. I’m not excluded in that sentiment. For scripted, we want to think about how we can evolve from that same space and do something fun. It doesn’t always have to be so serious. Like a good rom-com. Don’t we miss them? I miss them so much,” Meghan was quoted telling Variety. So far, the couple have produced two docuseries with Netflix, including Harry & Meghan.
Premiered on USA Network in 2011, Suits ran for nine seasons. It starred Gabriel Macht, Patrick J Adams, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, Amanda Schull, Dulé Hill, Katherine Heigl and Meghan. She also appeared in films like Remember Me, Dater’s Handbook, Horrible Bosses, When Sparks Fly and Random Encounters.
