It's official: Sivakarthikeyan, Priyanka Mohan's comic caper, Don, to hit the screens on May 13

A while ago, it was announced officially that Don, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, will hit the screens on March 25. However, the makers of RRR announcing their theatrical release date on the same day made the former think about a new release date. After various speculation, team Don has finally come up with May 13 as its release date.

Lyca Productions, which is bankrolling the project along with Sivakarthikeyan Productions, announced the release date from their social media handle with a new poster, featuring the lead hero, SJ Suryah, Sivaangi, Mirchi Vijay and Balasaravanan. Interestingly, the production company has acquired the theatrical rights of RRR, too, in Tamil Nadu.

In another post, they thanked Siva for his generous gesture to postpone the film's release to make things easy for RRR's wide release in Tamil Nadu. 

Posting a picture of Siva, Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR from the big budget film's pre release event held in Chennai, they wrote, "We would like to start by thanking Mr Sivakarthikeyan for his humble gesture in helping us postpone the release of Don, as the previously planned release date coincided with the release date of RRR, and both the films are our esteemed projects." 

In his tweet, Siva, too, posted the new poster of Don and tweeted, "Thoroughly enjoyed working with @iam_SJSuryah sir and his energy was infectious. See you in theatres (sic)." The film has thus joined the list of Tamil movies hitting the screens in May.

Arun Vijay's Yaanai is another movie which will have a theatrical release in May. The action flick directed by Hari will release on May 6. Kamal Haasan's Vikram, the shooting of which was wrapped up earlier today, is also eyeing a release in the same month.
