It's official: Suriya 42 title, release date reveal on this date

The much-awaited title and the release date of Suriya's upcoming movie, which has been titled Suriya 42 will be announced next week. The filmmakers revealed that the announcement will be made on April 16 at 9.05 AM. And they also noted that the film will be released in 3D giving the audience more reasons to watch it in cinemas as opposed to waiting for its OTT release. 

"A Mighty Valiant Saga in 10 Languages!!! 3D," tweeted Studio Green.

The buzz is that Suriya 42 is likely to release in cinemas during the Pongal holiday next year . The team behind the film has been extremely tight-lipped about the project, with very little official information released to date. However, in addition to the title and release date announcement, the filmmakers will also be releasing a teaser for the film in April, giving fans a glimpse of what they can expect from the highly-anticipated project.

Suriya 42 is written and directed by Siva and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green. The film is reportedly being made on a massive budget, with the pre-release business said to be in excess of Rs 500 crore. According to reports, Amazon Prime Video acquired the digital streaming rights of the movie for a record price. It's said to be the second-highest deal in the sale of digital rights in Tamil cinema. 

The first look of Suriya 42, released last year, generated a lot of buzz and excitement among fans. The film promises to be a visual spectacle, with high-octane action sequences, a gripping storyline, and impressive visual effects. Gnanavel Raja has even called the film "Tamil cinema's answer to KGF 2 and RRR. "

"This film's budget is three times higher than the highest budget film that Suriya has done so far. And the business of this movie is twice as high as his previous movies. It was very risky in terms of budget when we started," Gnanavel Raja said in an earlier interview.
