It was heard earlier that Vishnu Vishal-starrer FIR, directed by Manu Anand, is likely to have a theatrical release in February. The makers have now announced the release date officially. The thriller flick will release on February 11 in Tamil and Telugu under the same title.

Actor-politician Udhayanidhi and actor Ravi Teja will distribute the movie's Tamil and Telugu versions respectively. The former's production house Red Giant Movies expressed happiness in associating with the film through their social media handle. The post read, "We’re super excited to associate with the talented @TheVishnuVishal for #FIR A @RedGiantMovies_ release. The film releases in cinemas worldwide on February 11th (sic)."

Vishnu thanked Udhayanidhi and posted a picture of himself receiving a bouquet from the latter from his Twitter handle. He tweeted, "Thank you so so much @Udhaystalin na for always holding my back during the most difficult times...Words can never be enough...(sic)."

Thanking Ravi Teja, he posted, "THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR...Will never forget your timely gesture and also the belief in the film..(sic)." The movie has been produced by Vishnu's home banner Vishnu Vishal Studioz. FIR stars Raiza Wilzon, Reba Monica John and Manjima Mohan as its female leads.

The film's teaser was unveiled a couple of years ago. Filmmakers Gautham Menon and Gaurav Narayanan are others who play pivotal characters in the movie which is said to touch upon terrorism. Arul Vincent and Ashwath have handled cinematography and music respectively for FIR.

Stunt Silva has choreographed action scenes for the movie which has editing by Prasanna GK. The movie's story revolves around Abu Bakkar Abdulla, a wanted terrorist, after which Gautham Menon, who plays an investigative officer in it, goes hunting.
