Looks like more Tamil movies are showing interest in the post Pongal phase with regard to their theatrical releases. Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan was the first to announce its release on February 4. Vishal's Veeramae Vaagai Soodum had announced its arrival on January 26 recently.
Sivakarthikeyan's Don is also expected to hit the screens on February, though an official update on the same awaited. Now, Vishnu Vishal's FIR is the latest to join the list. On Wednesday, the Ratsasan actor had hinted an update about the film and released an unseen still from the movie.
Today, he took to social media to announce that the Manu Anand directorial will have a theatrical release on February in Tamil and Telugu. He tweeted, "The greatest efforts need the biggest arrivals.. I feel I've waited enough, and now is the time to break the silence.. Gear up! #FIRinFebruary in THEATRES ! #FIR in TAMIL n TELUGU ! (sic)."
Vishnu, who is also the producer of the project, released a new poster, too, along with the tweet which featured himself, Gautham Menon, Reba Monica John, Manjima Mohan, Raiza Wilson and Parvathy.
Stunt Silva has choreographed action sequences for the film which has Arul Vincent cranking the camera. Dhonikishore and Ashwath have handled the editing and music of FIR respectively.
Though the movie went on floors in 2019, the team could complete the project only this year owing to the restrictions posed by COVID-19. A few months ago, there were rumours about FIR having a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar, but the makers were quick enough to rubbish those unconfirmed news.
