Sunny Deol's film Jaat continues facing dilemma at the Box Office as the movie does not even enter Rs. 100 crore club. Even though Jaat had a slight benefit over Salman Khan's Sikandar, the movie continues struggling at the Box Office. The film, which was expected to perform better than Sikandar, ended up being a disappointment, worse than Sikandar even as it passes the second weekend. Jaat could not earn Rs. 100 crore even worldwide, while Sikandar entered the prestigious club on day 8 of its release.
Salman Khan's Sikandar took two Sundays to enter Rs. 100 crore club net at the Box Office. In comparison, despite releasing earlier, Sunny Deol's Jaat still struggles to cross the milestone. According to Sacnilk, the movie has earned Rs. 75 crore net by second Sunday of its release. The movie is not even in Rs. 100 crore club worldwide yet.
The initial reaction, of course, is whether Akshay Kumar's Kesari 2 release was the reason for Jaat not reaching Rs. 100 crore club at the Box Office. Although that statement does hold true, it is not the complete truth. Kesari 2 has in itself not performed well over its first weekend, barely minting Rs. 29.75 crore. Thus, the movie cannot take away a lot from Jaat Box Office, for it is not that big a competition at this point. Sunny Deol's own film Gadar 2 was the competition, and Jaat has a long, long way to go to come close to those Box Office numbers.
Why Cheat India? actor Emraan Hashmi is making his Bollywood comeback with Ground Zero this Friday. The movie is not made on as grand a scale as either Sikandar or Jaat, so there's little hope for Rs. 100 crore club. However, if the story does end up connecting, much like Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, there might be another history in the making. Time will tell the tale.
