Jackson Durai, which brought together Sathyaraj and Sibi Sathyaraj in 2016, garnered mixed responses upon release. However, the makers are busy making its sequel now. Sibiraj informed a couple of months ago that the team wrapped up two schedules and posted a still from the movie.

The makers have now surprised one and all by unveiling its first look poster. It features Sathyaraj dressed up as a British officer. Going by the poster, its story seems to be set in olden times. PV Dharanidharan, who helmed the first part, is directing the sequel as well.

Sri Green Productions and Dream Studios have jointly bankrolled the project that marks the 250th movie of Sathyaraj. Siddharth Vipin has been retained by the team to compose music, while there is a change in the cinematographer and editor.

Kalyan Venkatraman and Shafiq Mohammed Ali are handling the cinematography and editing respectively for Jackson Durai 2 aka Jackson Durai: The Second Chapter. Vicky is composing action choreography while M Lakshmi Deva is handling the art direction. C Saravanan has penned the story and screenplay along with director Dharanidharan.

Jackson Durai 2 will be released in Tamil and Telugu this year. The exact release date is likely to be announced later. The first part featured Bindu Madhavi, Karunakaran, Rajendran and Yogi Babu in notable roles. The makers are expected to reveal the cast of Jackson Durai 2 soon.

It isn't sure if the sequel will have a connection with the first installment. Sathyaraj was seen in Waltair Veerayya and Theerkadarishi this year while Sibiraj is yet to have a release in 2023.
