Jai Bhim actor Manikandan's next is a rom-com based on snoring, cast and crew details inside

Actor-writer Manikandan, who shot to fame with his acting in Kaala, has signed up for his next. Debutant filmmaker Vinayak Chandrasekaran is directing the untitled movie which revolves around the snoring problems of its protagonist. 

Apparently, this is the first film of Manikandan in a lead role after he won appreciation for his portrayal of a person from an underprivileged community in Jai Bhim. Interestingly, today marks the first anniversary of the Suriya-starrer which went on to garner acclaim from various quarters across the globe.

Though he was seen essaying notable characters in a few projects like Vikram Vedha, it was his role in Pa Ranjith's Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala which made him a bankable actor. His roles in Sillukaruppatti and Aelay, too, received rave reviews. He was last seen in Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal in which he played one of the lead roles.

Sean Roldan is composing music for his latest movie which is being bankrolled by Nazerath Pasilian, Yuvaraj Ganesan, and Mageshraj Pasilian. Meetha Raghunath, Ramesh Thilak, Balaji Shakthivel and Bagavathi Perumal among others essay key roles in the project which has Jayanth Sethumadhavan cranking the camera and Bharath Vikraman in charge of editing.

According to makers, the film is touted as a rom-com with ample family emotions. The post-production works of the movie, which is being shot in and around Chennai, has begun recently. The yet-to-be-titled project will hit the screens in 2023.

Manikandan's debut directorial film Narai Ezhudhum Suyasaridham, which was made a few years ago, had finally dropped on SonyLIV earlier this year. Delhi Ganesh, Mirchi Vijay and Aadhavan among others played significant characters in the movie which was screened at various film festivals.
