After the success of HanuMan, Prashanth Varma was expected to collaborate with Ranveer Singh on a big-budget project. However, that venture was called off at the last minute. Putting all speculation to rest, the director has now officially confirmed the sequel titled Jai Hanuman.
The film grabbed headlines when it was announced that Rishab Shetty would portray Lord Hanuman in the sequel. Following months of pre-production work, the grand project was formally launched earlier today in Hampi with a traditional ceremony. Lead actor Teja Sajja, Rishab Shetty, producers, and key members of the unit were present at the launch event.
The film is being mounted on a massive scale by the makers of Pushpa and Peddi and is expected to be one of the most ambitious mythological action dramas in Telugu cinema. According to sources at OTTplay, regular shooting will commence in April 2026 at a specially constructed set in Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. A significant portion of the film will also be shot in Hampi to capture its spiritual and historical aura.
Rishab Shetty has reportedly begun intense preparations for his powerful role. After the phenomenal success of Kantara, he is said to have been paid a hefty remuneration for this prestigious project.
Earlier, Prashanth Varma faced criticism over delays in announcing new projects, with reports suggesting financial commitments to multiple producers. However, the director maintained silence and focused entirely on developing Jai Hanuman.
