Ramayana is one of the most-awaited films of Nitesh Tiwari that stars an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in the lead roles. The film has been garnering a lot of attention ever since it was announced. Amid this, Jaideep Ahlawat, who was approached for Vibhishana's role in Ramayana, revealed the reason why he turned the project down.
During a recent interview with The Lallantop, Jaideep Ahlawat revealed that he had to reject Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, where he was offered to play Vibhishana's role. He mentioned that it was not possible to work out his dates with Yash. He said, "Offer hua tha. Par timing match nahi ho rahi thi (The role was offered to me, but the timings did not match)."
I think 'KGF' actor Yash is playing Raavan. I'm sure Raavan's schedule was more important than mine," he added.
In Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi will play Sita. KGF star Yash will play Raavana, and Kunal Kapoor will play Lord Indra. Apart from them, Kajal Aggarwal will reportedly play Raavan's wife, Mandodari, and Sunny Deol and Lara Dutta will reportedly play the roles of Lord Hanuman and Kaikeyi, respectively.
Meanwhile, Ramayana will hit theaters in two parts in 2026 and 2027.
During the same interview, the Paatal Lok star confirmed that he will be seen in Shah Rukh Khan's King. He also confirmed that director Siddharth Anand was initially reluctant to cast him due to the limited scope of the role, but Shah Rukh's strong belief proved to be the deciding factor.
“SRK sir, had been thinking about this for quite some time, as far as I know. But Siddharth (Anand) bhai was a bit hesitant to offer it since it was a small role after ‘Jewel Thief’. But Khan saab, being Khan saab, he said, ‘I’ll talk to him.’ Now, who could say no to him?” Ahlawat shared. He also praised King Khan and called him a wonderful human being.
