Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer is finally here and so are the reviews from the early morning shows (EMS) on day 1. First-day-first-show (FDFS) reports have been trickling in and following up on the first-half , the second has not disappointed audiences.
Earlier today, it was said that the highlights of the Nelson directed film included Rajinikanth’s introduction, his comedy dynamic with Yogi Babu, Anirudh’s background score, the emotions and the interval block action sequence, a tempo that the filmmaker maintained throughout the second half too. Calling the film a blockbuster, most netizens have been saying in unison that Jailer is among the best Thalaivar films in recent times, in which he looks classy and massy with elan. It’s a full feast for Rajinikanth fans, is the overwhelming sentiment on social media.
But while a lot of praise is coming in for the Superstar, the director Nelson, for who Jailer is a strong comeback, and composer Anirudh, some are also pointing out that Malayalam actor Vinayakan has a stand-out performance as well. As the lead antagonist, he gets a meaty role that he does absolute justice to.
Audiences also noted that although Malayalam star Mohanlal and Kannada star Shivarajkumar have very limited roles in the film, Nelson has managed to utilize them perfectly, so much so that even the little screen space they have comes with a bang.
Jailer, a Sun Pictures production, opened in theatres on August 10, with morning shows beginning at 6 am in some key markets. In Tamil Nadu, however, the first shows began at 9 am only. Fans have been making ardent requests to audiences in other states who had the privilege of catching the early morning show to not post reviews containing spoilers. So far, most netizens have paid heed to those requests, with the reports only highlighting elements or actors that stood out in the film without further details.
