The much-awaited glimpse of the upcoming Tamil film, Jana Nayagan starring actor Vijay in the lead role, is all set to be released on June 22, on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. Notably, Jana Nayagan will be his farewell film, given that he will take up full-time politics from next year onwards.

Actor Vijay, who enjoys a massive fan following, will be starring in the upcoming Tamil film titled Jana Nayagan. The first look poster was unveiled a couple of months before. With the film releasing in January of 2026, the makers are gearing up for the next update. The glimpse of the film is set to be released on June 22, on Vijay’s birthday.
Directed by filmmaker H Vinoth, all eyes are on Jana Nayagan, which is expected to be Vijay’s farewell film. The actor had announced his own party last year and had said that he would take up full-time politics after wrapping up with his 69th project, which is Jana Nayagan.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 9, 2026, just before the elections in April. The shooting of the film is in progress. Jana Nayagan marks the first time H Vinoth is collaborating with Vijay.
Is Jana Nayagan remake of Bhagavanth Kesari?
There have been speculations that Jana Nayagan is a remake of the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, headlined by Nandamuri Balakrishna. However, the makers have not yet confirmed if the film is a remake.
Besides Vijay, the film stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde in her second collaboration with Vijay after Beast. Narain, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, and Teejay Arunasalam, among others, are also part of the cast. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, which will feature rap by Hanumankind. It is shot by Sathyan Sooryan, and Pradeep Ragav is editing the film. KVN Productions backs Jana Nayagan.
