The celebrations leading to Jana Nayagan's release next month, has begun in full throttle. In the latest, the second single's promo and name have been unveiled. Oru Pere Varalaaru will release on Friday, increasing the expectations among fans.

After the release of first single Thalapathy Katcheri, the makers of Jana Nayagan have unveiled the second song to be Oru Pere Varalaaru. The animated promo hypes up Vijay as people's leader, and reveals that the song will drop at 6.30 pm on Friday (December 18). Jana Nayagan, the upcoming Tamil film starring Vijay in the lead role, holds much significance given the film marks the last acting stint in the actor’s career before he takes up life as full-time politician.

While the first single Thalapathy Katcheri had created positive reception for the film and was tribute of sorts for Vijay, the second single looks like it will project the star as people’s leader and glorify his presence. Jana Nayagan will hit big screens on January 9, just ahead of Pongal 2026. The film is directed by director H Vinoth in his first ever collaboration with Vijay. The title Jana Nayagan, which translates to people’s hero, has drawn significant attention, given Vijay is venturing into politics in 2026.

Touted to be a political action drama, the film also stars Pooja Hegde playing the female lead, while Bobby Deol appears as the antagonist. The supporting cast features Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Narain, and Mamitha Baiju. There are also speculations that Jana Nayagan is a remake of Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari but no confirmation has been done in this regard. The streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video for a fancy price.
