The Jana Nayagan fever has begun! With the advance ticket bookings opened in Karnataka and overseas, the film has already opened its box office collection with its pre-sales. The Vijay film which will hit theatres on January 9, 2026, has much expectations on it, given it is the star’s last film before he steps down from cinema.

Less than two weeks are left for the release of much-anticipated Tamil film Jana Nayagan. The Vijay-starrer, which arrives in theatres on January 9, 2026, just ahead of Pongal festivities. While the advance bookings have not started full-fledged, theatres in Bengaluru have opened on ticketing websites.
The FDFS shows begin as early as 6 am in the city, with Kerala also joining the schedule, by not going with 4 am shows. Meanwhile, fans outside India will first get to see the film, given their shows will begin as early as January 8, 2026. As per Sacnilk report, Jana Nayagan's overseas advance bookings have made approximately $300K in pre-sales, while the film has made close to Rs 1 crore with its Karnataka's day one show sales. The bookings for rest of India, are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2026. There will be no early morning shows in Tamil Nadu, and will only start at 9 am.

Speculated to be a remake of Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, the makers have not denied or confirmed the rumours.
