Jana Nayagan: Vijay's final film not to release at 4am in Kerala, here’s new FDFS timing and when ticket booking will start

Tamil superstar Vijay commands a good fan following in Kerala who are also eagerly awaiting the release of his latest film Jana Nayagan, which would also be his final movie before he steps away to focus on politics. Contrary to earlier reports, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan will not have 4am shows in Kerala. Instead, the distributors have conveyed that the film will be released at 6am on January 9, 2026.

Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Kerala FDFS timings

Actor-politician Vijay’s 2026 Tamil film Jana Nayagan, helmed by H Vinoth, will release in theatres worldwide on January 9 for Pongal. Usually, fan shows for Vijay films begin early but Jana Nayagan’s first screening will be held at 6am, the film’s Kerala distributors, SSR Entertainments, have said.

In an official statement, they said they planned 4am shows in the state but did not get approval. Fans can catch Vijay’s final film at 6am in Kerala now.

The advance ticket bookings for Vijay’s final film will begin on January 1, 2026.

Jana Nayagan is reportedly a remake of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Telugu movie Bhagavanth Kesari. The upcoming Tamil film features Pooja Hegde as the female lead along with senior actor Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Narain and actor-filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon. Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju, who was last in Pradeep Rangnathan’s Dude, is also part of the Vijay-starrer.

Meanwhile, the makers of Jana Nayagan conducted a huge event for the audio launch in Malaysia. Not just Vijay, videos of Jana Nayagan actresses Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju from the event have gone viral. 

Along with Jana Nayagan, another Tamil film Parasakthi is also releasing in theatres. Sudha Kongara directs the film, which stars Sivakarthikeyan.

In Kerala, no Malayalam films have been scheduled to release in theatres for January 9 as of now. Nikhila Vimal’s Pennu Case releases in theatres on January 16 and Bhavana’s movie Anomie on January 30, 2026.
