Malayalam actress Bhavana’s latest film, Anomie - The Equation of Death, is all set to hit theatres next year. The film, which will also star senior actor Rahman, will hit theatres on January 30, 2026. Anomie’s release date was confirmed by the makers in a video, which in itself is a compelling watch. Several celebrities, including Tamil star Suriya and Manju Warrier, have shared the Anomie video on their Instagram stories.

The upcoming movie Anomie - The Equation is helmed by Riyas Marath and stars actress Bhavana in the lead role of Zara Philip. The makers released a video, which included BTS and scenes from the movie, to announce the release date. The makers wrote in the caption - A return shaped by time in theatres worldwide Jan 30, 2026.
While sharing the video on his Instagram, Suriya also wrote a message for the Malayalam actress - "All the Best Bhavana for Anomie - here's wishing you a great innings with a lot of success and happiness".
Bhavana’s 23 years in cinema, 90 films
The video introduces Bhavana’s Zara character, at a hill station-like setting. Bhavana has faced numerous hardships in her professional and personal life and the video pays homage to her courage, saying that “She rises and we rise with her.” The video also mirrors Bhavana’s real life, pointing out that she has been part of cinema for 23 years and featured in 89 films, while showing a montage of her popular characters over the years. The upcoming film Anomie marks her 90th movie. Even as the video declares, “Now the call for her 90th, ready to strike,” a determined Bhavana takes over the screen and we are informed that Anomie will release in theatres in multiple languages.
The short video with its compelling visuals and wordings, along with the thumping background score makes for an intriguing watch.
Director Riyas Marath has also penned the movie, which is touted to be a thriller. More details about the plot are not known. Binu Pappu, Shebin Benson, Arjun Lal, and Vishnu Agasthya, are also part of the film. Bhavana's recent films were The Hunt and Door, that failed to impress audiences. With the upcoming Anomie, Bhavana would be aiming to make a strong comeback in Malayalam cinema.
