The Tamil film, which is touted to be the actor’s farewell project before he gets into full-time politics, is one of the most anticipated biggies from Tamil cinema. Jana Nayagan actor Mamitha Baiju talks about working with Vijay

Speaking about working with Vijay, Mamitha Baiju said that he is very "cool and punctual" and that the actor remains calm and composed on the sets. The Malayalam actor also went on to praise Vijay for being a good listener. "I yap constantly, and he will listen patiently as he nods his head. He is super cool person,” she added.

Mamitha Baiju will be playing a supporting role in Vijay’s Jana Nayagan. All eyes are on the film, given that it is Vijay’s final film before becoming a full-time politician. The cast of the film also includes Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Narain, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and others.

Directed by H Vinoth in his maiden collaboration with Vijay, Jana Nayagan is produced by KVN Productions and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Hanumankind has performed a rap portion for the album. The film is slated for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026.

Jana Nayagan’s update is expected to be made on June 22, given it is Vijay’s birthday. The previous posters of the film released show the actor as a people’s hero, aligning with his political image. While makers are yet to confirm if it is Bhagavanth Kesari, an official word is awaited. Prime Video is reported to have bagged the streaming rights.
