Played by Ava Louise Murchison, Jane is based on the real-life story of ethologist and conservationist, Dr. Jane Morris Goodall. Born in London in 1934, Dr. Jane is considered the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees, after studying the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees for 60 years. Goodall first went to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania to observe its chimpanzees in 1960.
Jane is basically a live-action educational series. Season 2 will have 5 episodes. The new trailer shows Jane exploring underwater on a submarine with her 2 friends. She is seen excitedly introducing all the underwater creatures to her friends. Jane seems super thrilled to save the world alone. She is even trying her best to make her mother understand her motto.
At the very end, Ava teases viewers by announcing that they will get to see some new adventures, beyond their wildest imaginations. The creative VFX applied on wild animals like lions, elephants, pandas, foxes is impressive.
In 2002, Dr. Jane Goodall was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace. She is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots & Shoots programme. Some of her best-selling books include The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times, My Life with the Chimpanzees, The Chimpanzees of Gombe: Patterns of Behavior, and Harvest for Hope: A Guide to Mindful Eating.
