With Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista coming together for a buddy action movie, MGM close to winning the bidding battle
Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista are two of the biggest stars in Hollywood right now with the former having a substantial fan base. The news of the two joining hands was exciting news for the fans.
The latest update about the movie is that it now has a taker. As reported by Deadline, MGM are closest to signing a deal with the makers following a bidding war.
The movie, which has been talked about a lot, will be written by Jonathan Tropper. Trooper has worked with both the stars in the Apple TV+ original series See. The idea for the movie reportedly came from Momoa, Bautista and Tropper.
Bautista took to Twitter a few months ago to say, “Just going to throw this out into the atmosphere and see what happens. Here we go…Me and Momoa in a Lethal Weapon type buddy cop movie directed by David Leitch. Ok! There it is. Now we wait.”
Momoa confirmed the story on his appearance in The Late Late Show with James Corden, where he stated the two are buddies in real life and the two will shoot in Hawaii.
The movie will see the two stars come together for a Lethal Weapon style buddy action movie which will be shot in Hawaii.
Momoa and Bautista both starred in Dune, but did not share screen space throughout the movie. They did meet each other in the drama series, See.
Momoa is working on the sequel to Aquaman titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom while the former wrestling star is working on a third Guardians of the Galaxy and the sequel to Dune.
