Not many anticipated encountering the Shah Rukh Khan mania twice in the same year as the superstar invites us all to the theatres once again with his latest release Jawan. The Atlee directorial hits the big screens with a bang on September 7 but the party seems to have begun well in 'advance' because the pre-release ticket sales of the film have already soared through the roof.

According to trade aggregator sacnilk.com, Jawan has already sold one million (and counting) tickets for the opening day of its release and is extremely well placed at the moment to score the highest opening for a Hindi film to date. The same trade site says that the film, which also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi & others, is on track to earn close to Rs. 80 crores in India and Rs. 125 crores worldwide on Day #1 of its release.

In short, we do have another massive blockbuster on the cards but, of course, one still hopes that the film has enough merit to match the hype.

Bengaluru awaits Shah Rukh Khan with open arms

Many would remember that the King Khan's previous release Pathaan had done exceptionally well in Karnataka and during its theatrical run, it became the very first Hindi film to date to gross over Rs. 40 crores in the state. But again, it would seem that Jawan will edge out its predecessor in this regard considering that the film has already reportedly grossed close to Rs. 2.5 crores (as of September 5) in Karnataka and one expects this figure to be much higher by the time the film actually arrives in theatres.

In Bengaluru alone, the film is said to have close to 800 shows to its name on September 7 with over 60 of them scheduled early in the morning. The EMS or early morning shows have been a major trend among big releases of late but the aforementioned number suggests that Jawan will have an unprecedented reception in the city.

Alongside, the same reports inform us that the other main cities of Karnataka, Mysuru and Mangaluru, have 59 and 56 shows lined up for the opening day, making Jawan the second biggest release in these two regions after Pathaan! As pointed out already, the Shah Rukh Khan mania is here and how!

Expect Jawan to cash in on the Gadar 2, Jailer fanfare

Another major factor that could come in handy for Atlee & Co. is that all the recent big releases, across languages, have worked tremendously well at the box office. Rajinikanth's Jailer and Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 has led the way with whopping collections so far and other films like Dream Girl 2 and Kushi, too, have yielded extremely positive results. So, with audiences already jolted into action by these films, one could expect Jawan to benefit from all the bustle.

Jawan also stars Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Yogi Babu, Sunil Grover and others with Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music.
