Jawan: Yash gets special thanks on movie database page of Shah Rukh Khan film

Earlier today, several eagle-eyed netizens spotted the addition of a few popular names on a popular movie database’s official page of Jawan. The Shah Rukh Khan-led film, directed by Atlee, has a bunch of names listed for special gratitude, one among which is namma Rocking Star Yash. Jawan, though, is not releasing with a Kannada dubbed version, which had netizens wondering why he has joined Prithviraj Sukumaran and Karan Johar on the list of people the team is thankful too. Ever since the Jawan prevue came out, audiences in Karnataka have been urging the makers to release a Kannada dubbed version, but there has been no confirmation on this, so it looks unlikely that Yash has dubbed for Shah Rukh Khan, or provided a voice-over for the Kannada version of the film’s trailer.

Cameo, voice-over or dubbing?

Considering that the film is directed by Atlee, fans suspect that the filmmaker could have roped in Yash and Prithviraj for cameos, or to make their star presence felt for the trailer that is expected to drop today. Jawan, which will be in theatres on September 7, also has south Indian stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Priya Mani on its star cast. Deepika Padukone has a pivotal cameo in the film. Netizens have been pointing out that in recent times, the Kannada dubbed versions of films like Prabhas’ Adipurush and Rajinikanth’s Jailer have done phenomenal business in the state and the request to dub Jawan too has been ongoing. Have the makers perhaps seen the value in dubbing the film in Kannada as well?

Well, for now, we will have to wait for the trailer or the film itself to figure out what Yash’s connection to Jawan is. The actor’s fans have been eagerly waiting for word on his next film. He was last seen onscreen in 2022’s KGF: Chapter 2, which released in April. An announcement of #Yash19 is expected shortly.
