Jayam Ravi kicked off 2023 on a bitter note. His film Agilan, directed by Kalyana Krishnan, opened to mixed reviews and ended up as a failure. The film, which was released earlier this month, is gearing up for its digital premiere on March 31.

The actor is now set to begin promoting his next project Ponniyin Selvan 2 which is hitting the screens on April 28 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. He is expected to have a crucial role to play in the second installment of the much-anticipated Mani Ratnam film.

Ravi has Anthony Bhagyaraj's Siren, Rajesh's JR 30 (tentative title) and Ahmed's Iraivan and Jana Gana Mana in his kitty. One among these is likely to be released this year, and an update on the same could be expected later. It is now heard that the actor has officially joined the list of stars who are banking on pan Indian movies.

Vels Film International has announced that they are bankrolling a project to be made on a budget of 100 crores. Ravi will headline the untitled film which will have music composed by AR Rahman. Though they are yet to reveal the producer's name, the plan is to release it in 18 languages.

Billed as the biggest movie in Ravi's career, the project has been tentatively titled JR 32. It will go on floors this year, if everything goes well. Fans of the star are elated with the actor's big step in career and are awaiting more details on it.

Ravi had earlier teamed up with Ishari K Ganesh's Vels Film International for Comali which was released in 2019. The hit movie marked the debut of Pradeep Ranganathan who made a sensational acting debut as a lead in Love Today last year.
