Ranveer Singh has come out with a movie with a rather peculiar story with Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The movie hits theatres around the country today and box office predictions suggest that the movie will have a rather humble opening day collection.

According to a report by Koimoi, the movie is expected to have an opening day collection of around Rs. 4-5 crores. While theatres have started to run with its full strength around India, Jayeshbhaai Jordaar could be affected by the post-pandemic footfall. The numbers are not expected to be high due to the fact that the movie comes with less hype considering it is a Ranveer Singh movie.

Ranveer has previously starred in movies that have had a lot of fanfare. Movies starring the actor such as Sooryavanshi and Simmba have done well on its opening day, with the latter reportedly minting an impressive Rs. 20 crore on its first day.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar sees Ranveer essay the role of a regular family man born to a rich and powerful family. He will soon have to fight against the society and his own family in order to protect his unborn girl child.

Written and directed by Divyang Thakkar, the comedy-drama also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles. The movie ran into some legal trouble for involving scenes of pre-natal sex determination. The high court later allwed the movie’s release, asking the makers to produce a disclaimer in two such scenes.

Bankrolled by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films, the movie is now available in theatres around the country. The movie’s OTT streaming rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video.
